VHS Video Tape Transfer
DVD, USB or Digital Files - From £18
The cost of transferring your VHS video to DVD starts at £25 (inc VAT) per video tape (up to 3 hours long) with generous discounts for quantities. This VHS service is only available from our Kodak Express store in Highgate London.
If you cannot make it into our shop with your VHS videos us our Online/Mail Order service. We are part of the Kodak Express group which should give you peace of mind when using our VHS to DVD copying service.
VHS Cost and Service Details
- 1-5 tapes are £25 each
- 6-10 tapes are £22 each
- 11 plus tapes are £18 each
- VHS tapes longer than 3 hours are charged at £7 per extra hour
- Any mix of domestic video or camcorder tapes
- Turn around time is currently 10 working days
- A rush service is available - ask for a quote
- You can have DVDs or editable computer files
- We have a video tape repair service for broken tapes

How to Order
You can bring your VHS work to our North London N6 store or post it to us with your instructions and telephone number. On receipt, we will call you to confirm the copying instructions and take payment by card over the phone.
Editable MP4 Computer Files
AVI Editable computer files from your VHS video tapes are possible for both MACs and PCs. We produced uncompressed AVI files for home computer editing. Editable file sizes are very large and you will need to supply an external hard drive or large capacity USB stick. One hour of video needs up to 5gb of space. We can supply a USB for you for a small additional cost.
Extra DVDs
DVDs last a life time, can be played countless times without deterioration. However, one tiny scratch on you DVD could make it unplayable. For only an extra £8 you could have a DVD back up copy of your precious video tape giving you complete peace of mind.
VHS & Copyright
By placing VHS to DVD transfers with us, you are assuring us that you own the copyright of the VHS tape OR that you have permission from the copyright owner that you can duplicate the video tape.
In the case of commercial VHS video tapes we can transfer it to DVD as long as you assure us that you were the original purchaser of the video tape. We are legally bound to make only one DVD copy of commercial VHS video tapes.
VHS More Info
NTSC-PAL
Some VHS Video tapes from Japan, USA and other parts of the world will be in NTSC format, the TV standard for those countries and will not play on UK (PAL) systems.
You will need to use our NTSC to PAL VHS video conversion service. The cost of NTSC to PAL for VHS videos is £40 per tape with discounts for quantities.
Video Tape Repair
We can fix any type of physical damage to the tape such as snapped or entangled tape, tapes which are immediately ejected and replacing the tape housing.
We cannot generally fix problems associated with bad recordings (too light or too dark), camera equipment malfunctions and sound problems. If you have accidentally erased the tape we cannot restore the footage.
