Cine film can deteriorate with age. We preserve Standard 8, Super 8, 9.5mm and 16mm film as MP4 or AVI digital files, or on DVD, using professional frame-by-frame digital scanning equipment.
Old family films make memorable gifts and are much easier to enjoy after transfer. All cine transfer work is completed at our London studio, where our experienced technicians assess each reel and select the most suitable capture settings.
If you can't make it into our shop in London but would like to use our quality cine transfer service please do so by mail order.
Additional DVD copies can be produced as gifts. We can also add titles, music and transitions when requested. If you need an output or presentation option that is not listed, please contact us before ordering.

How to Order
If you cannot make it into our shop simply post your cine film to us - don't forget to include your instructions, address and telephone number. On receipt of your work we will call you, confirm your instructions, and take payment by credit card over the phone.
MP4 and AVI Digital Files
Choose MP4 for convenient playback and sharing, or AVI when you need a compatible file for further editing. Files can be supplied on a suitable USB drive or external hard drive. You may provide your own storage or purchase it from us. The storage required depends on the running time, resolution and selected output format, so we will confirm this before work begins.
Optional restoration service
AI cine film enhancement
After digitisation, we can use Topaz and DaVinci Resolve to improve suitable Standard 8, Super 8, 9.5mm and 16mm cine footage. Every reel is different, so we assess the source before recommending enhancement.

Important: AI can improve suitable footage, but it cannot recreate detail that was never recorded or has completely faded. Deep scratches, severe blur and badly overexposed or underexposed scenes may improve only partly.

Extra DVDs
Although DVDs last a lifetime without deterioration in quality one scratch or scuff mark will render it unplayable. For this reason we strongly advise you to order an extra DVD back up copy of your cine transfer work.
